I've not been idle over the intervening months, although much of my time has IMO not been worthy of posting. I have spent a lot of time cycling on the road (just over 6000miles and 340,000' of ascent). I've still done a fair bit of walking, especially since the weather has taken a turn for the colder!
Here's a few images from the year, in no particular order.....
I was back up Wetherlam in August! |
I had two visits to the Scottish Islands on this bike, here seen at Port Charlotte on Islay |
Same bike different tyres! on a day following the "Tour of Britain" stage through the Lakes...and seeing just how slow I was in comparison to the "pros"! |
September and we visited The "Sense of Space" by Antony Gormley |
October, and a wild walk to Thornthwaite Crag. |
The "fancy" bike at Sandside as the sun went down across the Kent estuary |
We visited this amazing display of poppies at Carlisle Castle |
Amongst all the other stuff I rode the motorbike a bit as well...here on Wrynose Pass in high summer |
Didn't do much mountain biking this year so this was a rare event...Little Langdale. |
I understand and know where you are coming from. I feel the same. Although we haven’t been able to do much hill walking this year, we have done odd bits which were not worthy of a post. If it’s not a bit different with some interest then why post it. That’s the point of the blog. To pass on information and hopefully some enjoyment with a few images thrown in.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Happy New Year to you and keep the blog going.
Cheers Alan, I plan to make a effort this year. Look forward to reading of your exploits as well!
ReplyDeleteTek care Alistair
Gosh! Is missed your cycling accident. Hope you are fully ok now.
ReplyDeleteI'd not Is!
ReplyDeleteHi David, Thanks...yes I was back riding after a fortnight.
Delete"Where there's no sense there's no feeling"..."You can't keep a good man down" (even an old one who should know better!) etc...
On a more serious note I was told at A&E that had I not been wearing a good quality helmet, it was smashed in 3 places (my head was cut inside the helmet) then that would have been it. :-( sobering thoughts indeed.
It makes me wince whenever I see anyone riding without one.
I thought about a blog post at the time....but I'm reluctant to preach...
Trust you're enjoying your cycling.
Cheers
Alistair
