The Jaws of Borrowdale

Today found us at Grange-in-Borrowdale. The plan being to do a circuit of Castle Crag...and indeed that's what we did. Although not in the direction we'd planned! It rained for the first mile or so....

It faired up though and the last of the Autumn colours were still excellent

As we had lunch beside the Derwent the sun lit up Kings How

Lots of berries waiting for the winter migrants

Looking down into Borrowdale and Ullscarf beyond from Tongue Gill

A foreshortened view of Great End

Derwentwater and Skiddaw seen from below Castle Crag.
Back to the car from here, all downhill but into a bitter wind.

  1. Stunning colours, and look at those tracks calling out for my bicycle tyres to explore!
