Upstream below Halton Park. |
The waterworks bridge, this carries the 4 huge pipes taking all that lovely rain that falls on us Cumbrians down to Manchester etc. |
Places from my childhood, Ali. My father grew up in Warton and my grandparents are buried in the churchyard at Kellet.
ReplyDeleteIts a really pleasant walk, lots of bird-life on this stretch as well just 15 mins from home/Holme!
DeleteIs Woody still selling his fabulous bacon butties from the car park? When we lived in Hest Bank, we always finished a walk along the Lune with these.
ReplyDeleteThe kiosk is a rather more substantial affair these days...and it was shut, only open weekends!
DeleteIts nice walk around Feb/ March time when the snowdrops are out in the woods and one point you could have got free parking at Halton Station which is about 30 minute walk from the Crook O'Lune.
